A new survey from the Australian research firm Ipsos says you’ll likely buy a new manufactured home and a new building.
The survey of 2,000 consumers in Australia’s top 10 markets found that a significant number of people would buy a home in the state of New South Wales (NSW), the country’s largest.
In Victoria, the report found that 37 per cent of respondents would buy an old-style manufactured home, while 28 per cent would buy new manufactured homes.
But in Tasmania, the survey found that just 6 per cent thought of buying a home made by a new-type manufacturer, compared to 42 per cent in Victoria.
New-style construction also dominates in Victoria, with a third of respondents saying they would buy houses made by the new-style builders.
Victoria is a major manufacturing state, accounting for over $100 billion in exports annually.
While New South Australians would have the most interest in buying a new home, they are also the most likely people to choose to buy a house made by someone who has made it to the top of the list.
More than 60 per cent said they would want to buy houses built by someone with the highest average net worth.
