By now, you’ve probably heard about a new app called CarPlay that allows you to use your phone as a car.
But, as of today, you can also use it to charge your laptop, tablet, or laptop charger via USB, as well as connect to a USB host to charge a laptop.

CarPlay works on Android devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above, with all major car brands making it available.
The feature is a welcome addition for drivers looking to drive in comfort and safety.
If you’re a longtime user of CarPlay, you know that you don’t have to think twice about charging your device.
As of today the app supports charging via USB 3.0 and up to 2.5A.
If the charging cable doesn’t come with a cable plug, you may be able to use a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
The next update to CarPlay will add support for USB-c to USB 3 charging.
It’ll also include the ability to charge multiple devices at once, including phones, tablets, and even your computer.
CarDrive, which is currently only available on the Google Play Store, will be available later this summer.
